Latest Update Josh Fields remains day to day with general soreness in his right side. Sat Sep, 20, 08:20 PM
Uses an excellent curveball to rack up plenty of strikeouts. Has also proven capable of closing out ball games in the minors. Is quite aggressive when on the hill.
Flaws: : Lacks ideal size, so he battles stamina and durability issues. In fact, injuries have somewhat curbed expectations here. Doesn't repeat his delivery consistently.
Fields hasn't pitched since September 9 and if he's still experiencing soreness, then he might actually be done for the season. There is zero fantasy value here over the final week of the season.Analyst: Howard Bender
With Chad Qualls out of action, the Astros will likely turn to Josh Fields to man the ninth inning, which will increase his fantasy value significantly. It is unknown how long Qualls will be out of action, but until he returns Fields is worth owning in deep league formats. Analyst: Matthew Beck
Fields got the one-out save in today's victory. Fields is not pushing Qualls for the closing spot for the rest of the year. However, Fields could be pitching to preserve his role or have his prominence in the Houston bullpen grow.Analyst: Colby Conway
Fields has been out of action since June 14, and will be in the mix to be sued as a setup man for Chad Qualls. Although he is likely the best right-handed thrower in the Astros bullpen, until Qualls falters he will remain on the outside looking in outside of extremely deep NL-only leagues.
