Latest Update Jake Marlsnick went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in the Astros win against the Mariners on Sunday. Sun Sep, 21, 07:23 PM
An excellent athlete with five-tool potential, he covers good ground in center field and also boasts a very good throwing arm. Can steal bases with aplomb and displays plenty of home-run power.
Flaws: : Has to improve his hitting mechanics and shorten his swing significantly in order to maximize his hitting upside for the big leagues. Also must start making more solid contact on a consistent basis.
Marisnick raised his RBI total to 19, as well as hitting his third home run of the year in the seventh inning of today's game. Marisnick is now hitting .250 for the year and most likely won't be a primary player next year for the Astros as they hope George Springer will be healthy. Analyst: Colby Conway
Marisnick is now 9-for-23 (.391 BA) with two extra-base hits and six RBI over his last seven games as he continues to put together a nice run as the regular season comes to an end. Those in desperate need of outfield help may want to give Marisnick a look as long as he continues to earn regular playing time. Analyst: Matthew Beck
Man, on a short term basis, the Marlins have definitely won that trade when they acquired Jarred Cosart for Marisnick, who hasn't show the ability to hit at the major league level.Analyst: Mark Kaplan
Marisnick had a solid day for the Astros today, but he should remain in the free agent pool. He is hitting for a low average, and has only 11 RBIs on the year. Leave Marisnick on the waiver wire, he doesn't require a roster spot at this time.Analyst: Colby Conway
