Latest Update Jake Goebbert hits first big league HR Thu Jul, 10, 09:30 AM
Is a smooth-swinging outfielder who generally makes solid contact and usually displays a pretty solid walk/strikeout ratio. Owns decent power, too.
Flaws: : Doesn't really profile as an everyday outfielder in the big leagues, since he is only an average defender and lacks the ability to hit left-handed pitching with aplomb.
Goebbert has done little to help out the Padres struggling offense since his promotion, but has managed to hit .333 through his first 27 at-bats. Until he starts showing more power at the plate he remains on the outside looking in in most fantasy formats.Analyst: Matthew Beck
Goebbert will be brought up to add depth at first base with Yonder Alonso hitting the DL with a wrist ailment. He was batting .264 with 11 home runs and 43 RBI over 220 at-bats in the Pacific Coast League this season.Analyst: Howard Bender
The Bears did not spend a late round pick on a quarterback because they felt that Jordan Palmer could be the teams number two. Jerrod Johnson is the only competition with Palmer for the backup duties behind Jay Cutler. He hasn't appeared in a regular season game since 2010, but spent last year in Chicago and knows Marc Trestman's system. We all know Cutler's injury history and this number two spot could become very valuable late in the season.Analyst: Drew Phelps
