Latest Update Orioles transferred Manny Machado to the 60-day disabled list. Tue Sep, 02, 02:56 PM
Has good power and the ability to play a quality shortstop (with a great arm). Can also steal some bases. Is versatile enough to play several infield positions if need be. Is fairly adept at making solid contact.
Flaws: : Struggles at times when he tries to hit home runs too much, so he must be better at using the entire field. Is perhaps too big to play the shortstop position on a regular basis at the big-league level.
This hurts the Orioles with Manny Machado going on the DL. Machado just had his second knee surgery in the last year. You will need to look for another third baseman on your fantasy teams. Analyst: Mike Mohr
That's what they said last year when Machado had the same procedure done on his other knee. His progress was incredibly slow the last time so while they say he'll be ready for spring training, we'll take that with a grain of salt and just monitor his progress.Analyst: Howard Bender
Machado suffered the knee injury August 11th on a swinging strike. Fortunately, it's not the same knee that ended his 2013. He should be ready to go for 2015, but it's a massive blow to Orioles and the young third-baseman. Machado isn't known for his wheels to begin with, but it's hard to expect him to run at all going forward. Analyst: Spencer Silva
Wow. Just wow. The Orioles will press the "rinse & repeat" on Machado and wait to see how long it takes him to come back from it this time.Keeper league owners might want to re-think things if we're just looking at a repeat of this season.Analyst: Howard Bender
