Latest Update Ike Davis hits seventh home run Sat Jul, 26, 11:08 PM
Has a great, classic left-handed first baseman's frame that can generate a ton of power at the plate. Also displays the ability to hit for average.
Flaws: : Strikes out way too much, so he would be better served cutting down on his swing in certain game situations. Also needs to stay more focused.
Davis continues to platoon at first base and while he's hitting just .243 on the year, he does have a solid .355 OBP. But with just six home runs, 32 RBI and no sign of full-time work coming soon, he's a limited, low-end option in NL-only leagues only.Analyst: Howard Bender
Davis made his first start of the second half count on Tuesday night, logging his first three-hit game since May 7. Although he has produced much better since being traded to the Pirates, until he sees regular at-bats there is little to like about Davis the rest of the way. He is now hitting .240 with six home runs and 30 RBI through 242 at-bats. Analyst: Matthew Beck
Davis will be glad to see his former team leave town as Sunday's hits and RBI were his first against his former team as he wrapped up the four-game weekend series against the Mets going 2-for-11 with three walks and one strikeout. Davis is now hitting .245 on the year with five home runs, but hasn't hit one since June 9th, which was his only fence clearing shot of the month.Analyst: Michael Pichan
Somewhat surprising to see Davis sitting against a right handed starter such as Homer Bailey whom he is 2 for 6 with a home run in his career off of. In his place Gabby Sanchez will get the start who has also had success against Homer Bailey going 5 for 16 with a home run. Analyst: Jonathan Impemba
