Latest Update Davis logs three hits in win over Dodgers Wed Jul, 23, 07:25 AM
Has a great, classic left-handed first baseman's frame that can generate a ton of power at the plate. Also displays the ability to hit for average.
Flaws: : Strikes out way too much, so he would be better served cutting down on his swing in certain game situations. Also needs to stay more focused.
Davis made his first start of the second half count on Tuesday night, logging his first three-hit game since May 7. Although he has produced much better since being traded to the Pirates, until he sees regular at-bats there is little to like about Davis the rest of the way. He is now hitting .240 with six home runs and 30 RBI through 242 at-bats. Analyst: Matthew Beck
Davis will be glad to see his former team leave town as Sunday's hits and RBI were his first against his former team as he wrapped up the four-game weekend series against the Mets going 2-for-11 with three walks and one strikeout. Davis is now hitting .245 on the year with five home runs, but hasn't hit one since June 9th, which was his only fence clearing shot of the month.Analyst: Michael Pichan
Somewhat surprising to see Davis sitting against a right handed starter such as Homer Bailey whom he is 2 for 6 with a home run in his career off of. In his place Gabby Sanchez will get the start who has also had success against Homer Bailey going 5 for 16 with a home run. Analyst: Jonathan Impemba
After batting .326 in the month of May, Davis has fallen off the wagon following the turn of the calendar, now sitting on a .143 average with one home run and six RBI in 42 June at-bats. He is now sitting on a .246 average with five home runs and 23 RBI on the season and will likely continue to be platooned at first base when lefties are on the mound, which will limit his fantasy value to extremely deep and NL-only formats for the time being.
