Latest Update Buster Posey is not in the Giants starting lineup on Sunday. Sun Aug, 31, 01:36 PM
Boasts a fantastic eye at the plate with good power and the ability to drive in plenty of runs. Doesn't strike out a lot, relative to his walks. Can also play first base.
Flaws: : Injuries are an issue here, especially a devastating leg fracture, which has limited his long-range prospects behind the dish. Doesn't have as much value as a first sacker.
Sunday has somehow become the trendy day to rest catchers, so Andrew Susac will get the start behind the plate. He has two home runs in just 40 career at-bats.Analyst: Steve Pimental
Bethea could have played on Sunday, but there isn't any need to risk it. He should be fine for the regular season opener. Analyst: Ben Diamond
Posey has had himself a solid run, going 14-for-31 (.452 BA) with three home runs, 10 RBI and seven runs scored over his last seven games. With just one month of games left in the regular season it is unlikely Posey reaches his career-highs in both home runs and RBI production, but he remains on track to reach the 20 home run plateau for just the second time in his career with 90-plus RBI a distinct possibility if he can stay healthy down the stretch. Posey now has five home runs over his current seven-game hitting streak. Use Posey now in daily games while he is still hot.Analyst: Steve Pimental
