Latest Update Buster Posey will continue to see more time at first base in an effort to keep him fresh. Tue Jul, 29, 07:45 PM
Boasts a fantastic eye at the plate with above-average power and the ability to drive in plenty of runs. Doesn't strike out a lot, relative to his walks. Can also play first base.
Flaws: : Must improve his footwork back behind the plate. Also needs to continue to work on commanding a pitching staff and calling a good game. Injuries are also an issue here.
With Brandon Belt on the DL with a concussion the Giants have been using both Posey and Morse at first base this season. Though currently on the 7-day DL with a concussion Giants backup catcher Hector Sanchez seems the most to benefit from this situation as he will be inserted into the starting lineup more frequently with Posey at first and Morse moving back to the outfield. Posey closed out a pitiful weekend series, where he had a lone hit in nine at-bats, on a high-note by at least providing his owners with a home run. It was his second in six games and 12th of the season, unfortunately the RBI was just his first since his previous home run back on July 22nd.Analyst: Michael Pichan
The Giants backstop is now 10-for-23 (.435 BA) with four extra-base hits (1 HR), seven RBI and four runs scored since returning from the All-Star break. This is definitely the start to the second half that the Giants want to see from their captain, and if they want any chance of making the post season they are going to need more nights like this, which will benefit both the team and his fantasy owners. He is now slashing .286/.342/.441 with 11 home runs and 53 RBI through 329 at-bats. Analyst: Matthew Beck
Posey is once again having a strong season for the Giants compiling a .281 average with 36 runs, 10 home runs and 50 RBI. The Giants will be facing Cliff Lee and the Phillies on Monday. Posey has struggled in limited at bats against Lee going 1 for 7.Analyst: Jonathan Impemba
