Latest Update Paul Goldschmidt will not need surgery on his fractured left hand Tue Aug, 26, 08:43 PM
Is a massive specimen with big-time power and run-producing ability. Also has a great batting eye. A good athlete, he is also adept with the glove. Can hit for a very good average and steal a base, too.
Flaws: : Strikes out a bit too much and generally lacks a bit of consistency with the stick (otherwise, he'd perhaps be an all-time great). Specificallty, he can be too streaky when it comes to the home-run ball.
The lack of surgery is a plus as it will not require an extended recovery time but Goldschmidt is still out for the remainder of the MLB season. Analyst: Jonathan Impemba
What a blow to fantasy owners as Goldschmidt was not only a top first basemen but was also a top 10 fantasy player. Prior to his injury Goldschmidt was hitting .300 with 75 runs, 19 home runs, 69 RBI and nine stolen bases. Mark Trumbo is taking over first base duties with Goldschmidt on the shelf.
