Latest Update J.D. Martinez has been inserted to the starting lineup Tuesday Tue Jul, 29, 06:09 PM
Is a talented batter who can hit for both average and power, especially at lower levels. Can also be a solid defensive outfielder. Produces runs when he's right.
Flaws: : Needs to prove he can hit for a consistent batting average at the highest level. Isn't much of a base-stealer. Can be injury-prone. Isn't great against right-handed pitching.
J.D. replaced Nick Castellanos in the starting lineup. I do not recommend starting him in DFS leagues because Martinez has .231 batting average vs southpaws this season (Jose Quintana is starting for the White Sox).Analyst: Mark Kaplan
After going 1-for-10 over his last three games, Martinez will sit against left-hander Jose Quintana. Rajai Davis will handle left field, Tuesday.Analyst: Howard Bender
Martinez missed two games due to a quad injury but is good to go now. Although Martinez has regressed a bit after a very hot streak which has bumped his average up to .327, he is still a very good option at the outfield position in most leagues, with good power as well as a solid average. Martinez was penciled in to start for the first time since suffering a quad injury, but has since been replaced by Rajai Davis in left field. This will make the second consecutive game in which he will be out of the starting lineup, so fantasy owners may want to start seeking alternatives in the event this situation goes from bad to worse.
