Latest Update Jean Segura extends current hit streak to five games Mon Jul, 21, 11:19 PM
An offensive middle infielder with great speed, he can play both shortstop and second base. Also displays pretty good pop in his bat.
Flaws: : Could stand to improve his walk/strikeout ratio, as well as his stolen-base percentage, in order to maximize his big-league potential.
While it's true Segura has five-game hitting streak, Monday was Segura's first multi-hit game since July 7th. It's unknown whether or not Segura will play everyday following the heartbreaking death of his young son over the All-Star break. Segura's been one of fantasy's biggest disappointments, slashing .236/.269/.328 with four home runs and 15 steals. He's been about 40-percent below league-average on offense.Analyst: Spencer Silva
Our heartfelt condolences to Segura and his entire family for their loss. A child's passing is a tragic event and there's simply nothing else we can say but that he is in our thoughts. The hope is obviously that he finds some sort of motivation to turn his season around, but if he doesn't, we can all understand why. Fantasy owners will have to make sure they have a viable back-up option as this could really just go either way at this point.Analyst: Howard Bender
Segura left the team last week after he discovered that his son passed away in the Dominican Republic after suffering a rather common illness. It is hard to imagine he will be able to put this tragedy behind him after just a few days, but fantasy owners can expect to have him for fantasy purposes regardless. Analyst: Matthew Beck
This is such a terrible story and it has to be an awkward situation for the Brewers to handle. Segura went back to his home in the Dominican Republic to be with his family after the tragic passing of his nine-month old son. Even if Segura returns to the squad soon, who knows when he will be mentality ready to play again. Analyst: Drew Phelps
