Latest Update David Lough connects for 2nd home run Sun Jun, 08, 01:16 AM
Owns a good glove and is versatile in the outfield. Is adept at hitting for a good batting average, especially in the minors. Can also steal bases and also provide a little pop with the bat.
Flaws: : Doesn't have any one quality that truly stands out, making him far more of a backup than starter material in Major League Baseball. Also, he's not efficient enough in terms of stealing bases.
Lough has been seeing a little more playing time recently and has said thank you to his manager in the appropriate way, going 5-for-13 with two home runs, five RBI and four runs scored over his last five games (four starts). The power isn't usually part of his game, but the average and the runs scored usually are. With consistent playing time, he could be worth a look in deeper leagues, but without it, he's barely even a plug-and-play.Analyst: Howard Bender
Getting a rare start on Sunday, Lough was able to produce solid numbers making the most of his playing time. He is now hitting a dismal .176 with one homer and six RBI through 91 at-bats, but it won't be good enough to earn him more regular at-bats unless Nelson Cruz is forced to miss time due to a hand injury.Analyst: Matthew Beck
That's definitely a good thing to hear, but he may still be feeling some lingering effects. He's been in the lineup for two of the last four games and ended up 0-for-8 between them. He may just need a few games to get back into the swing of things, but should he not improve, the club may consider something similar to a rehab stint just to get him ready again.Analyst: Howard Bender
Lough avoided the disabled list by passing his concussion tests, but manager Buck Showalter will keep him on thee bench for another game. Nelson Cruz will handle the left field responsibilities with Delmon Young as the DH. Lough could be used off the bench though.Analyst: Howard Bender
