Latest Update Anthony Rizzo homers twice Tuesday Tue Jul, 22, 11:56 PM
Generates great power, thanks to his big frame. His size is also an asset as a target at first base. Is willing to draw walks.
Flaws: : Needs to cut down on his high number of strikeouts in order to maximize his run production as a big-league hitter.
Rizzo hit his 24th and 25th home run if the season on Tuesday night. He is in the midst of a phenomenal season and should be a top option at first base down the stretch.Analyst: David Kerr
Rizzo enjoyed his stay in the desert over the last three games as he connected for three home runs in 11 at-bats. He is now slashing .281/.384/.522 with 23 home runs and 53 RBI as his much anticipated breakout season continues. If he is able to maintain his great patience at the plate (76:53 K:BB rate) to go along with his elite power, there is just no telling how good this guy sis going to be this year and beyond. Rizzo continued his coming out party on Friday, blasting two more home runs bringing his total up to 22 long balls on the season. He is now one home run away from tying last season's mark of 23 home runs and remains on pace to reach the 30 homer mark for the first time in his young career. Not only has his home run production been stellar, but he currently holds a .278 average which is a far cry from the .233 mark he posted a season ago. At 24 years of age, there is still more room for growth, so hang on and enjoy the show. Analyst: Matthew Beck
