Latest Update Krauss is not in the Astros' starting lineup on Wednesday. Wed Aug, 13, 11:07 AM
A big guy, he can generate a lot of power thanks to a very strong lower base. He also displays good plate patience and discipline, as he takes walks regularly.
Flaws: : Is only an average defender and doesn't own much speed. His overall athleticism isn't great. Also needs to become more consistent at the dish.
For Krauss, Thursday's home run was his sixth of the season, but has managed to hit a mere .192 through his first 151 at-bats in 2014. Unless he goes on a serious run down the stretch, three is no reason he should be a fantasy consideration the rest of the season. Analyst: Matthew Beck
With a game in an NL park and Bo Porter's desire to have the bats of both Jon Singleton and Chris Carter in the lineup, Krauss will take a seat for Tuesday's game. He will be available off the bench.Analyst: Howard Bender
Krauss has now hit safely in five of his last six games, but is slashing just .197/.282/.346 with five home runs and 16 RBI through his first 127 at-bats. There is certainly a lot more that he is going to have to prove before gaining any form of fantasy value, so no reason ton jump on board after one good showing. Analyst: Matthew Beck
