Latest Update Gomes homers in win against Twins. Thu Sep, 11, 09:38 PM
Displays pretty good home-run power. Is a very good defender behind the dish. A versatile player and batter, he can play all over the field--as well as serve as a regular catcher.
Flaws: : Needs to improve his walk/strikeout ratio in order to maximize his production with the stick in Major League Baseball. In general, he could stand to become a more consistent hitter.
Thursday's home run marked Gomes' 18th of the season. He is now batting .288 and has put together a very strong season. He will be a solid option at catcher headed into drafts next March.Analyst: David Kerr
Gomes has quickly become one of the league's best offensive catchers -- he's not shabby with the glove, either. The big game lifts his season slash to .285/.324/.476 with 17 home runs and 54 RBI in 111 games. His allergy to walks is the only downside to his overall game, which really only matters to those of us in OBP formats. He's a Top 5-7 catcher in 5 x 5 formats headed into 2015.Analyst: Spencer Silva
The Tribe hinted that Gomes would be ready for Friday's action and here we are with him back behind the plate and batting sixth against the Royals.Analyst: Howard Bender
