Latest Update Anthony Recker went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk in the Mets win over the Braves on Sunday. Sun Sep, 21, 06:07 PM
Has good home-run power for a catcher, as well as the ability to draw walks in the minor leagues. Is a decent game-caller with some leadership qualities.
Flaws: : Is relatively big for a catcher, so he lacks some quickness behind the dish. Also lacks the consistency to hit for a high batting average in the big leagues.
While Recker had a great day at the plate for the Mets, he is not their starter, therefore diminishing his fantasy value. Travis D'Arnaud is the starter in the big apple, and that will likely be the plan of action for 2015 as well.Analyst: Colby Conway
Recker has played in three of the Mets last 20 games and has hit a home run each time. In fact, Recker has homered in four of his last six games. He replaced an injured Travis d'Arnaud in this game, and if d'Arnaud misses significant time Recker could be a decent pickup if your team can handle the low batting average.Analyst: Steve Pimental
Maybe after this home run Recker will not have to wait another 11 days for his next start.Analyst: Steve Pimental
Despite the heroics, Recker will remain the backup to Travis d'Arnaud at catcher for the Mets.Analyst: Ivar G. Anderson
