Latest Update Todd Frazier smacks 20th homer Sunday Sun Jul, 20, 07:05 PM
Is a good hitter with the ability to knock in runs, hit home runs and draw walks. Has worked hard to become a regular at the hot corner.
Flaws: : Strikes out way too much and lacks consistency as a hitter for batting average, which limits his overall production numbers to some extent.
Frazier's breakout season continued on Sunday, as he has now set a new career-high with 20 home runs. To add to his success in the power categories, Frazier has maintained a solid .289 average up to this point, although his 22.7 percent strikeout rate is something that could lead to trouble down the road. Whether or not that happens is anyone's guess, but he remains a top tier option at the hot corner until he proves otherwise. Analyst: Matthew Beck
What's not to love about the first half Frazier has given you? After working with the coaches to help make his swing more consistent, Frazier has taken his game to a whole new level. His 19 home runs at the halfway mark already tie his season -long total for the last two years, and his .290 average is the best it's been. The changes to his swing have been a direct proponent of the improvement he's made and it looks like you can safely move forward with him for the second half. of course, fingers crossed that he doesn't ruin everything at the Home Run Derby.Analyst: Howard Bender
Frazier looks so great at the plate right now that you hate to see him go to the Home Run Derby and potentially ruin his swing and the development he's made this season. He had 19 home runs all last year and now he is heading into the All Star break just one shy of tying his career-best? That's insane. The offseason work he and the Reds did to make his swing more consistent has certainly paid off and he remains an outstanding option at the hot corner this year.Analyst: Howard Bender
Frazier will get a much deserved afternoon off after their double header yesterday. He has had a big week being named to the All-Star team and we found out he will participate in the Home Run Derby as well. Frazier is batting .289 for the season with 17 long balls. Analyst: Drew Phelps
