Swings the bat with huge power. Has a big, strong frame and quick wrists. Also displays the potential to hit for a good average. Can be an impact player when he gets red-hot.
Flaws: : Is defensively challenged, especially at the hot corner. Will sometimes go on huge strikeout binges, and generally whiffs too often. Has had some minor issues with his conditioning.
Alvarez struggled last season hitting .231 with 18 home runs and 56 RBI after hitting .233 with 36 home runs and 100 RBI in 2013.Analyst: Jonathan Impemba
