Latest Update Ruggiano (ankle) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Tuesday Tue Sep, 02, 04:11 PM
Displays an impressive power/speed combination. Is also versatile enough to play any outfield position. Can get hot with the bat. Hits left-handed pitching well.
Flaws: : Strikes out at an alarming rate, which hurts his chances of seeing regular playing time at the major-league level. Also lacks consistency in all facets of the game.
Ruggiano is done for the season so adding him to the DL will help the Cubs fill an open spot on the 40-man roster. Analyst: Mike Mohr
Ruggiano played well in a limited role this year, but an ankle injury did him in. He is arbitration eligible next season and will remain with the Cubs barring a trade.Analyst: David Kerr
The Cubs aren't thrilled with the length of time it's taking Ruggiano's ankle to improve, so a trip to the specialist for a thorough examination is due. We'll still consider him day-to-day but will await results from any tests run.Analyst: Howard Bender
Ruggiano's ankle hasn't shown any improvement and the DL move is necessary for some roster movement. He hasn't appeared in the last three games and he hasn't started five of the last six. He'll be back once he's eligible but for now, it's Jorge Soler time.Analyst: Howard Bender
