Latest Update Tyler Colvin has elected free agency rather than his outright assignment. Sun Oct, 05, 12:32 PM
Is a very good athlete who displays both power and overall hitting ability. Can play all three outfield positions and first base, too.
Flaws: : Needs to improve his walk/strikeout ratio and prove capable of hitting left-handers consistently in order to maximize playing time.
He saw limited playing time with the Giants this season and decided to elect for free agency, rather than being a part of their minor league system. He hasn't had a good fantasy season since 2012 and should not be targeted in redraft leagues in 2015. Analyst: Mark Kaplan
Colvin has elected to not hit the open market and stay within the organization. He has struggled this season to say the least hitting only .223/.268/.381 at the big league level this season. He will be a depth option in the minor leagues. Analyst: Drew Phelps
Colvin posted a .223/.268/.381 slash line over 139 at-bats for the Giants and hasn't really been much of an asset for them. He definitely blew an opportunity with Angel Pagan out, so the team doesn't seem to have issues with parting ways.Analyst: Howard Bender
Colvin's Giants career got off to a fine start, but since the calendar turned to July, Colvin has been awful. Over his last 10 games, Colvin is 3-for-18 (.167) with just one run and one rbi. The Giants could be clearing roster space in preparation for some deadline dealings. Analyst: Spencer Silva
