Latest Update Brandon Crawford is not in the Giants starting lineup on Sunday. Sun Jul, 20, 11:04 AM
Is a very solid defensive infielder, complete with a strong throwing arm. Has pretty good power and is quite big for a middle infielder.
Flaws: : Strikes out a bit too much for his average level of power, and doesn't steal enough bases to be a more rounded offensive player.
No word given as to why Crawford is taking a seat Sunday, but considering the Marlins are throwing a lefty in Brad Hand for the game, perhaps manager Bruce Bochy wants to go with the right-handed Joaquin Arias at short instead.Analyst: Howard Bender
The Giants were way ahead in the game so there's nothing wrong with a precautionary removal here. Crawford went 1-for-2 with a home run, three RBI and a run scored before he left the game, so he certainly did his part. Consider him day-to-day and if he's out Saturday, expect to see Ehire Adrianza at shortstop.Analyst: Howard Bender
He should be back in the lineup for Sunday's first-half finale as it was just a simple day of rest for him Saturday. He's only hitting .242 on the season, but his seven home runs and 37 RBI are probably more than his fantasy owners expected from just half a season.Analyst: Howard Bender
The triple was Crawford's eighth of the season, which is tied for second most in MLB with Ranger OF Alex Rios and one behind Dodgers SS Dee Gordon who hit his ninth of the season on Wednesday. Crawford is not a very sexy fantasy option, but despite a .260 season average he is putting up near great numbers almost everywhere else outside of stolen bases as he is in the top five among NL shortstops in RBI with 36 and the top ten in home runs with seven and RBI with 36. And as far as the average goes, he is hitting .324 in June (22-for-68), which is second only Tulo among NL shortstops this month.Analyst: Michael Pichan
