Latest Update Lorenzo Cain contributes all around on Saturday Sun Aug, 31, 05:56 AM
Is quite toolsy and athletic. Plays good defense in the field and boasts a good power/speed package at bat. His athleticism is a major plus.
Flaws: : Is inconsistent, especially at the plate. Needs more work on his walk/strikeout ratio in order to maximize his offensive production.
After a little stretch of platooning to help keep him rested and healthy, Cain has been a regular fixture in the lineup. Unfortunately though, his production has been lacking from a power standpoint. He does have five stolen bases in his last seven games, but with no home runs and just one RBI in that span, it's been a little disappointing. He'll continue to get regular playing time over the next month, so perhaps some of that power will return. If not, we'll at least take a healthy Cain and some speed.Analyst: Howard Bender
Cain will get some rest Wednesday as he has periodically done throughout the season. He's slashing .309/.345/.432 on the year, but has been inconsistent as of late, posting four hitless performances over his last eight games. Jarrod Dyson will fill in for him in center field.Analyst: Howard Bender
Cain needed a game like this to maybe get himself back on-track and hopefully get back into the good graces of manager Ned Yost. Jarrod Dyson has been seeing more time lately and with the way Norichika Aoki has been playing, Cain has been the one to sit. There hasn't been much from his bat when he's been in the lineup, but if he can build off this, perhaps he sees increased opportunities.Analyst: Howard Bender
Cain's owners ears perked up when they saw "start" and "in Colorado". Cain is locked in a platoon situation and hasn't been starting every day. Get him in the lineup though, as players always have a chance for big fantasy performances while playing at Coors Field. Analyst: Mark Kaplan
