Latest Update Lorenzo Cain is not in the Royals starting lineup on Tuesday. Tue Jul, 22, 05:15 PM
Is quite toolsy and athletic. Plays good defense in the field and boasts a good power/speed package at bat. His athleticism is a major plus.
Flaws: : Is inconsistent, especially at the plate. Needs more work on his walk/strikeout ratio in order to maximize his offensive production.
The Royals are giving Cain a mental break in hopes he can breakout of his one for 26 slump. Despite the recent slump, Candy Cain still has a batting average of .297 and has 12 stolen bases on the season.Analyst: Mark Kaplan
After being replaced by Jarrod Dyson on Saturday with southpaw Rubby De La Rosa on the mound for the Red Sox, the Royals are expected to return Cain to his usual position, manning center field on Sunday. He is in the midst of a 0-for-19 slump, so fantasy owners may want to keep him benched until he snaps out of his current cold streak. Analyst: Matthew Beck
He is suffering through a 0-for-19 slump, and thus Jarrod Dyson will man center for the Royals in their Saturday match up against Boston. Dyson will also slot in at Cain's normal lead off spot in the order.Analyst: Ivar G. Anderson
Cain has a five-game hit streak working, has three multi-hit performances in that span and is now sporting a .322/.359/.450 slash line on the year. He's only got three home runs on the year, so the power is definitely suffering at the expense of a strong batting average and OBP, but he's got 11 stolen bases which helps soften the blow. Cain is a hot topic for many right now as he is still on the waiver wire in numerous leagues. You can use him for some help while he's hot right now, but the injury history tells you that the success may be short-lived.Analyst: Howard Bender
