Latest Update Evan Longoria belts 12th homer of the season Tue Jul, 22, 11:49 PM
Is one of the game's best all-round performers at the hot corner. Is a power hitter that can also maintain a solid batting average. He's great defensively. Performs well under pressure situations.
Flaws: : If he has one main flaw at the plate, it's a reasonably high strikeout rate. Also, he could still use a bit better footwork in the field. Isn't efficient enough in base-stealing.
It's been quite a lackluster season for Longoria, but he has been known to be strong in the second half. Even with his struggles this season, he remains one of the better options at third base.Analyst: David Kerr
With the two doubles, Longoria broke former Ray Carl Crawford's franchise mark for doubles (216) and the RBI on Sunday gave Longo 592 for his career which puts him in a tie with Crawford for that team record as well.Analyst: Michael Pichan
Although Longoria may only be batting .244 in the month of July, his 10 RBI puts him on track to have his most productive month in that category. He is now sporting a .260 average with 11 home runs and 47 RBI through 377 at-bats while sitting on a career-worst 34.3 AB/HR. Those who are optimistic that he will bounce back in the second half will want to buy-low now in the event it does happen, but we have been waiting a long time now and the more time that passes makes it seem like we may have to wait until next season to him to return to the level of production we have grown to expect from him. Although Longoria was only able to contribute one hit in Tuesday's contest, it was enough to give the Rays enough cushion to take the win against the Royals. Through 358 at-bats, Longoria is sitting on a .263 average with 11 home runs and 42 RBI while maintaining a solid 75:37 K:BB rate. His production would certainly be much better if the Rays had added some protection for him in the lineup this past off-season, but either way he is still a solid fantasy option even if he is unable to pick up the pace in the second half.
