Latest Update Justin Upton went 2-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and a walk in the Braves blow-out victory over the Pirates on Tuesday. Tue Aug, 19, 10:04 PM
A phenomenal athlete, he possesses all five tools. Owns big-time home-run power. Has a rare mix of size, wheels and raw natural bat-speed. Throws well from the outfield.
Flaws: : Strikes out too much. Has shown he can sometimes lose focus (at the plate, on the basepaths and in the field). Needs to keep working on his fundamentals and consistency.
Upton is now 6-for-12 with two home runs, seven RBI and four runs scored over his last three games as he continues to be a big part of the Braves most recent success. He is now slashing .287/.363/.522 with 24 home runs and 80 RBI through 439 at-bats as he remains one of the best fantasy options to own down the stretch. Analyst: Matthew Beck
Upton has now hit safely in nine of his last 10 games while adding four home runs, 11 RBI and eight runs scored in that stretch. Considering how well he has played of late, it is clear that the minor hamstring injury sustained on Thursday is no longer bothering him. As long as he is healthy, Upton is one of the best outfield options to own down the stretch. Analyst: Matthew Beck
Upton is now slashing .281/.357/.509 with 22 home runs, 73 RBI and seven stolen bases through 424 at-bats as he continues to be a great power source for both the Braves and his fantasy owners in 2014. However, his 29.9 percent strikeout rate is going to hamper him in his progression, but at last he is starting to take more walks (50 BB).Analyst: Matthew Beck
Upton was 1-for-2 with a double, two RBI and a pair of walks before leaving the game. He was tagging from second to third and slid awkwardly into the bag. The team says that the injury is just a mild strain of his hamstring, but he's likely to miss Friday's action just to play it safe.Analyst: Howard Bender
