Latest Update Maxwell has accepted his assignment to Triple-A Omaha Thu Jul, 10, 10:57 PM
Excellent athletically and blessed with a huge frame, he has good power and base-stealing ability. Has defensive versatility in the outfield.
Flaws: : Lacks focus at times, which has hurt his development and ability to receive regular at-bats in the bigs. Swings far too freely and strikes out too much.
Maxwell appeared in 20 games for the Royals and was downright brutal at the plate. He batted .150 with no home runs and 20 strikeouts. He will play at Triple-A for the time being, but has a chance to be recalled later in the season.Analyst: David Kerr
Maxwell's .397 OPS wasn't cutting it. He'll likely try to latch on somewhere else. Analyst: Spencer Silva
Maxwell was brought up on June 21st from Triple-A to replace the injured Aoki on the active roster. He was already removed from the 40-man roster back in May after he hit just .138/.219/.172 over his first 32 plate appearances this season. He continued to struggle batting .150 for the season with no home runs. Analyst: Drew Phelps
Maxwell was batting .319 down at Omaha since his demotion back in May. He'll come up and take the roster of the recently DL'd Norichika Aoki, though he'll only play against left-handers, so he is not someone you should be looking at for your roster.Analyst: Howard Bender
