Latest Update Brett Gardner is not in the Yankees' starting lineup Saturday Sat Sep, 27, 11:07 AM
Is one of the fastest players in baseball, and has the ability to steal plenty of bases (whether up or down in the batting order). Can track down plenty of balls in the outfield, and can even play center field.
Flaws: : Has very little power to speak of, mainly because he constantly hits down on the ball. Needs to prove he can hit left-handed pitching with greater consistency. His arm is not good enough for right field.
There doesn't seem to be an injury here, just a routine day off. Eury Perez is in center and Chris Young is in left as the Yankees get ready to pull up the stakes and fold up their tents on a disappointing 2014 season.Analyst: Howard Bender
Gardner will miss Friday night's game due to rest. The New York Yankees are doing their best Staten Island Yankees impression on Friday night.Analyst: David Kerr
Garner has been exceptional for his owners. He has 17 home runs on the year to go with 58 RBIs and 20 stolen bases. If he can experience a power surge here late, he could end up a 20/20 outfielder.Analyst: Colby Conway
He'll give it the ol' college try, but Gardner still seems to be a fairly long way away from coming back just yet. The running will be a nice step forward, but he's going to need time to work at the plate too.Analyst: Howard Bender
