Latest Update Ryan Braun said his thumb is back to 100 % Wed Nov, 26, 11:27 AM
Can hit anything thrown to him for doubles and homers, while making great contact. Is gifted athletically and boasts a terrific power swing. A prolific producer, he is also fast enough to regularly steal bases.
Flaws: : Is not a top-tier defender (although he has a superb throwing arm), and is a bit raw in the outfield. Does tend to strike out a bit too much. His situation may be clouded by a performance-enhancing drug issue.
While hearing that news is comforting, it's going to take an awful lot by Braun to show the fantasy community that he is really at 100-percent and that the thumb issue will not recur or hinder his 2015 production. If he is truly back, then we should see immediate results to open spring training. He still has first-round potential, but it obviously comes with great risk attached.Analyst: Howard Bender
Braun's thumb injury was thought to be largely responsible for his struggles last season, as he batted .266/.324/.453. All of those numbers were the worst of his career. Braun could easily bounce back if the thumb injury is finally behind him, but he will be one of the riskier players come draft day.Analyst: Steve Pimental
That is good news for Braun, but I'm worried about the status of his thumb around February and March, when fantasy drafts are going on, then in October when the season just ended. Analyst: Mark Kaplan
Although he has been cleared to swing a bat, he doesn't expect to actually hit a baseball until closer to the end of the week. The thumb has bothered him since early in 2013, and their hopes remain that the surgery will fix that nerve issue. This past season Braun hit .266 with 19 home runs, 81 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases.Analyst: Colby Conway
