Latest Update Derek Jeter played DH in his final game as a Yankee and had a base hit with a RBI before being pulled from the game in the win over the Red Sox on Sunday at Fenway Park. Sun Sep, 28, 05:20 PM
Was ridiculously consistent with the bat. A phenomenal clutch player, he was smooth at short and efficient on the base-paths. His instincts were also first-rate. Had tremendous gap-to-gap power. Always led by example.
Flaws: : Always had limited range in the field, which placed extra burden on groundball pitchers. Also made a few too many errors. Generally, he was overrated defensively. Was also a bit of a slow starter early on.
We all know that Jeter isn't a great fantasy shortstop. However, he is a future hall-of-famer who has been a class act his entire career. He ends the year with a .256 average, four home runs, 49 RBIs, and ten stolen bases. Jeter will be forever remembered, and this goes without saying, but do not draft Jeter in 2015.Analyst: Colby Conway
Whether you believe Derek Jeter is overrated or you are an irrational Yankees fan, there is no denying Jeter is a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer. The hits alone are incredibly impressive.Analyst: Steve Pimental
And yet, he is in Saturday's lineup, albeit at DH. Has he been told to not run out any groundballs? Or does he need Sunday off just to rest for his retirement? This is an odd announcement, unless he is not playing on Saturday as well.Analyst: Ivar G. Anderson
Some people won't like this, but Jeter should be able to do whatever he damn well pleases as he rides into the sunset. Fenway Park has been a very important place throughout his career and taking his last at-bat as a visitor obviously means something to him. Good on it, Captain. Do your thing.Analyst: David Kerr
