A good athlete, he has an electric bat and decent power at the plate. Will take a walk and doesn't strike out too much. Has pretty good range and tools at shortstop.
Flaws: : Lacks concentration on the field, which can at times lead to boneheaded mistakes on the bases and high error totals in the field. Also, has lacked maturity at times.
It was reported Thursday that Escobar was expected back this weekend, so we assumed that the team meant Friday. And lo and behold, Escobar is back at shortstop and batting seventh in the lineup against the Blue Jays. If you've been waiting on him, now is your chance to get him active.Analyst: Howard Bender
The Rays were just waiting for Escobar to play one more rehab game without issue in his shoulder before officially deciding to bring him back for Friday. Barring anything obscure or catastrophic, he should be back at shortstop to face the Blue Jays.Analyst: Howard Bender
