Latest Update Jay Bruce is not in the Reds' starting lineup Saturday. Sat Sep, 27, 10:24 AM
A great athlete with excellent size and mobility, he hits the ball with huge power. Has the instincts and talent to be a star in all aspects of the game.
Flaws: : Strikes out too much and forces things at the plate sometimes. Also, his outfield defense is still a work in progress. Isn't much of a base-stealer.
Bruce is just getting a day off here. Nothing more than that. The season has been disappointing as it is for Bruce and his owners, so a day off here on the final weekend might just spare them all another 0-for-4. Yorman Rodriguez is in right field Saturday.Analyst: Howard Bender
It's been a long year for Bruce, but he had a nice day at the plate on Thursday afternoon. Bruce has just 18 home runs, but is a very solid bounce back candidate for next season. His stock has certainly fallen, but expect a much better year in 2015 for the powerful outfielder.Analyst: David Kerr
It has been an atrocious season for Jay Bruce as the two home runs brings his total to just 18 on the season after hitting 30 or more home runs in each of the past three seasons. His .217 batting average is the worst of his career as is hit .283 OBP. Analyst: Jonathan Impemba
Bruce gets the day off so the Reds can take a look at outfielders Yorman Rodriguez and Donald Lutz. This will likely be a regular occurrence over the rest of the season.Analyst: Steve Pimental
