Latest Update Pedroia underwent a successful first dorsal compartment release and a tenosynovectomy of his left wrist Thu Sep, 11, 04:31 PM
Is a very good contact hitter with solid power, some speed and a great glove. Doesn't strike out much. Has great instincts and gets the most out his ability. Hustles constantly. His bat speed and plate coverage are fantastic.
Flaws: : Can wear down physically over the long haul due to his all-out style (and lack of ideal size for the big leagues). Will have the occasional lapse on the basepaths. Is not a natural athlete, so he always needs to work extra hard.
We wish him nothing but the best in his recovery and we'll look for him in 2015.Analyst: Howard Bender
If you didn't believe that the Red Sox would shut Pedroia down for the season, here you go. Surgery Thursday is all you need to know now. He's done like dinner.Analyst: Howard Bender
By now you should have already been working with a replacement for Pedroia at second base as he's been out more often than in over the last few weeks. Concussions and day-to-day injuries will do that to you. If not, then there's no sense in holding out hope for a return now and you need to make a move immediately. He's done for the year and won't be heard from again until 2015.Analyst: Howard Bender
With the Red Sox long out of it, surgery seems like the logical idea for Pedroia. Whether he gets surgery or not, his season is likely over.Analyst: David Kerr
