Latest Update Athletics reinstated Alberto Callaspo from the disabled list. Sun Jul, 27, 03:32 PM
Is an excellent contact hitter who boasts switch-hitting ability, doubles power and an occasional home-run stroke. Doesn't strike out a lot. Can also play several positions.
Flaws: : Doesn't use his speed enough on the base-paths to distract opposing pitchers, and generally lacks base-stealing acumen at the big-league level. Can be fragile in terms of injuries.
Alberto Callaspo has been activated off the 15-day disabled list. He was placed on the dl with a Grade 2 strain of his hamstring on July 12. There's not a lot to be excited about here, as the 37 year old third baseman has hit .234 in 83 games with Oakland this season.Analyst: Joshua Balay
