Latest Update Red Sox placed Kelly Johnson and Craig Breslow on revocable trade waivers Fri Aug, 08, 11:16 PM
Is extremely patient and has a nice power stroke, making him an above-average offensive infielder. Has pretty good speed, too. Is versatile afield.
Flaws: : Isn't a top-fielding infielder. Can be a streaky and all-or-nothing hitter at the dish (waiting for walks or perfect pitches), so he hits for a middling average.
The Sox will see if there are any takers and maybe they can work out a trade of some sort. of course, the return value for either player is probably more on the minimal side than anything else.Analyst: Howard Bender
Johnson will serve as a utility player for the Sox now that he's activated. Just how much time he sees is unknown, but with so many youngsters up and a versatile guy like Brock Holt on the roster, it's probably not going to be a lot.Analyst: Howard Bender
Johnson was acquired by the Red Sox in the trade that sent Stephen Drew to the Yankees at the deadline. Johnson has been on the DL since July 23rd with a groin injury.Analyst: Jonathan Impemba
Johnson was acquired from the Yankees before last Thursday's deadline, but has yet to appear in a game for the Red Sox. Once he finally does join the team, he'll probably be in the super-utility role that he filled while in New York.Analyst: David Kerr
