Latest Update J.J. Hardy went 1-for-4 with a grand slam home run, two runs scored and a walk in the Orioles triumph over the Twins on Sunday. Sun Aug, 31, 05:44 PM
An intense player, he has good power and run-producing qualities from the shortstop position. In the field, he boasts a very strong arm and sound instincts for the position.
Flaws: : Strikes out too much and is also prone to nasty hitting slumps that hurt his overall value at the dish. Is also somewhat injury-prone. Isn't much of a base-stealer.
Hardy was another player who enjoyed a nice day at the plate in today's slugfest with the Twins. Hardy has been a nice fantasy shortstop this season even with his homerun total drastically reduced from past years. He has hit for a higher average this year than others, so Hardy should continue to be inserted in line ups.Analyst: Colby Conway
Hardy was hitting .338 in the month of August heading into tonight's game. The home run was his fourth of the month which is more like the power we expect to see from Hardy who has just eight home runs this year after hitting 25, 22 and 30 over the past three seasons.Analyst: Jonathan Impemba
Hardy is on a nice run at the plate here with at least two hits in five of his last six games. In that span he's also got three home runs, eight RBI and seven runs scored and has pushed his overall average to .286 on the year. The slow start to the season really hindered his power totals, but fantasy owners who have stuck with him are now finally reaping the benefits.Analyst: Howard Bender
Hardy has been hot of late, with Friday's performance being his third consecutive multi-hit game as he tries to salvage what it left of a disappointing season. The Orioles shortstop is now slashing .285/.318/.391 with six home runs and 41 RBI through 414 at-bats and unless he has a long lasting power urge down the stretch will not reach the 20 home run club for the first time in four seasons.
