Latest Update Jones now with 64 RBI on the year Thu Jul, 24, 06:31 AM
Is very athletic, with impressive tools: has top-tier speed and power, plus a great throwing arm and range in the outfield. Has shown he can hit for average with good home-run totals.
Flaws: : Is too much of a free swinger and would benefit significantly by taking more free passes--and cutting down on his strikeouts. Doesn't steal as many bases as he should.
Jones is just 5-for-24 (.227 BA) to start the second half of the season, but has managed to go yard three times while adding 10 RBI over his first six games back from the All-Star break. He is now slashing .297/.324/.494 with 19 home runs and 64 RBI through 407 at-bats as he remains one of the best fantasy options to own this year and beyond.Analyst: Matthew Beck
After limping into the break quietly, Jones has started off the second half as good as his fantasy owners could have expected. After one home run, five RBI and a pair of stolen bases Saturday, Jones waited until Monday for a two-homer encore performance. He drove in all four runs for the Orioles Monday and now has three home runs and nine RBI over his last three games. Nerdy sabremetricians will continuously look at his wild swing rates and lack of walks, but those matter not to Jones who is en route to another 30-100 season.Analyst: Howard Bender
Jones night, and he even said so, could have been even grander as he stranded three runners during the game, but that would have just been over kill seeing as the O's tied up the three-game series with the A's at a game a piece after the A's snatched game one on Friday from them on a walk-off home run. Jones big night ended a three-game hitless streak where he was 0-for-9 with three strikeouts.Analyst: Michael Pichan
After a slow start, Jones has really emerged over the past month. He currently has 16 home runs and will join Jose Bautista, Brian Dozier, and Yoenis Cespedes as they represent the American League on Monday night in Minnesota.Analyst: David Kerr
