Latest Update Blanco leads Giants' offense in 13-inning affair Tue Sep, 23, 02:52 AM
Has good speed (which he uses well in the field and on the bases) and will take a walk, suggesting he can be a leadoff man. Can also play any outfield position.
Flaws: : Lacks extra-base power, so it's hard to justify playing him on an everyday basis. Also lacks consistency as a general rule when at the plate. Doesn't hit lefties well enough.
Blanco took Dodgers' starter Dan Haren deep to leadoff the game. He later doubled off reliever Kevin Correia in the 13th inning, driving in two insurance runs -- only one of them was an RBI, however. Analyst: Spencer Silva
Blanco has now hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games, and he has 14 stolen bases on the season. He should be added in all leagues.Analyst: Steve Pimental
Blanco has been streaking, going 10-for-24 (.417 BA) with five extra-base hits, three RBI and six runs scored over his last five games as he continues to see regular at-bats in the the Giants starting lineup. Although he isn't going to stick out in any given category, Blanco makes for a solid add for those in deep leagues looking for some speed (14 SB) down the stretch. Analyst: Matthew Beck
Blanco's rare homer put the Giants ahead in the bottom of the second inning and they never looked back. He isn't an everyday player, but he most the most of his opportunity on Thursday.Analyst: David Kerr
