Latest Update Johnny Peralta drove in three runs for the Cardinals to make 59 RBI on the season and the Cardinals beat the Reds 7-3 on Wednesday. Thu Aug, 21, 12:43 AM
A good fastball hitter, he can drive the ball to the gaps regularly and over the fence too, leading to a lot of RBI. Is versatile with the glove.
Flaws: : Swings too freely, can get into strikeout slumps and doesn't hit for a high average. Can be erratic with the glove (he's better at shortstop than at third base). Lacks speed.
Not only has Peralta hit safely in six of his last seven games, but he's also produced RBI in all six of those seven games. In fact, during that span, he is 10-for-28 (.357) with two home runs, 10 RBI and four runs scored. Streaks like this don't happen too often with Peralta, so enjoy the heroics while you can.Analyst: Howard Bender
