Latest Update Adrian Gonzalez went 4-for-5 with a run scored in the Dodgers win against the Padres on Sunday at Petco Park. Sun Aug, 31, 07:31 PM
Owns a sweet swing, huge power and a willingness to take walks. Can be clutch when driving in runs. Has very soft hands and is good defensively at first base.
Flaws: : Lacks speed and swings a little too freely at times, which sometimes limits his batting average from reaching top-tier levels. Is also lacking in range at first.
He sat out a game on Wednesday due to a sore back but his back seemed fine with his four hit performance today. Gonzalez is closing in on 20 homers and 100 RBIs for the season and has been a solid value pick. As long as he stays healthy, Gonzo should be started in all formats and continues to contribute in most hitting categories.Analyst: Colby Conway
Gonzalez is now 6-for-16 (.375 BA) with three extra-base hits (1 HR), three RBI and four runs scored over his last four games, which has his sitting on an August batting average over .300, marking the first time he has concurred that feat since hitting .337 in April. Unlike most seasons, Gonzalez has been very streaky at times in 2014, but he is still sitting on 19 home runs and 91 RBI through 490 at-bats so fantasy owners have to be pleased with his production up to this point. With Wade Miley on the hill for the Diamondbacks and Gonzalez hitting .185/.246/.266 against southpaws this season, the Dodgers first baseman will take a seat. Justin Turner will ghet the nod at first base Wednesday.Analyst: Howard Bender
Gonzalez's average now sits at a respectable .275 after teetering around around .250 for most of the season. Along with his .275 average Gonzalez has scored 61 runs with 18 home runs and 89 RBI which puts him on pace for another season of 20+ home runs and 100+ RBI.Analyst: Jonathan Impemba
