Latest Update Royals have made Omar Infante available for trade. Tue Dec, 09, 02:58 PM
A driven player with nice defensive skills: can play all over the infield and outfield. Drives the ball the other way, with occasional power. Has quick feet in the field. Makes solid contact and doesn't strike out a lot.
Flaws: : Isn't always able to catch up to inside fastballs, so he generally doesn't provide a lot of home-run power. Lacks consistency on offense and can run too hot and cold sometimes with the stick.
It's unclear what the Royals would do at second base without Infante, but considering his injuries last year, they are potentially interested in making a change. If they deal him, it is likely to take place over the next day or two.Analyst: Howard Bender
Infante had been dealing with a nagging shoulder soreness throughout the season and hinted during the playoffs that surgery could be necessary. The Royals are apparently confident that rest will do the trick. The 32-year-old batted .252/.295/.337 with six home runs and 66 RBI in 2014 in the first season of a four-year, $32.25 million contract. Analyst: Drew Phelps
Infante had a great postseason for Kansas City. In the regular season, Infante hit .252 with six home runs, 66 RBIs, and nine stolen bases. Infante will be a late-round draft pick at best in 2015 drafts.Analyst: Colby Conway
Infante is just 3-for-13 here in the World Series, but has provided a decent offensive lift at times. He's got one home run with four RBI while playing a very stable second base.Analyst: Howard Bender
