Latest Update Omar Infante (shoulder) is in the Royals starting lineup on Saturday. Sat Aug, 30, 04:59 PM
A driven player with nice defensive skills: can play all over the infield and outfield. Drives the ball the other way, with occasional power. Has quick feet in the field. Makes solid contact and doesn't strike out a lot.
Flaws: : Isn't always able to catch up to inside fastballs, so he generally doesn't provide a lot of home-run power. Lacks consistency on offense and can run too hot and cold sometimes with the stick.
Infante has missed the past four games due to a shoulder injury. On the year he is hitting .255 with 44 runs, with six home runs, 59 RBI and six stolen bases.Analyst: Jonathan Impemba
The Royals are giving with the newbie, Christian Colon, at second base until Infante returns from the injury. It sounds like the injury is a day-to-day type of injury and will not require a trip to the disabled list. Analyst: Mark Kaplan
Just a normal day of rest for Infante. Nothing more than that. Christian Colon will handle the work at the keystone for Tuesday.Analyst: Howard Bender
Injuries and inconsistencies have marred what could have been a solid season for Infante, here in his first with the Royals. This game breaks a four-game 1-for-18 stretch and while you'd like to see him build off it, it's hard to imagine he does anything of the sort in spite of how well the entire team is playing. We'd like to see him return to the days of when he was consistently hitting for a high average, but we just don't think he's that guy anymore.Analyst: Howard Bender
