Latest Update Zack Cozart gets good news Tue Jul, 22, 11:12 PM
For an infielder, he has a lot of pop in his bat and also boasts some base-stealing ability. Defensively, he makes most of the routine plays and is as steady as they come.
Flaws: : Strikes out a bit too much, and doesn't walk nearly enough to maximize his batting potential. He's also not a spectacular fielder--he's a bit limited.
The good news here is that X-rays on Cozart were negative, so he won't be headed to the disabled list. There is a very good chance that he will miss at least a few days depending on how quickly he progresses.Analyst: David Kerr
I wouldn't get too excited. Cozart's big day raised his triple slash to .227/.266/.313. He still has no homers, and today's pilfer was his first of the season. Cozart has been a big ball of suck in all formats that count positive performance. Analyst: Spencer Silva
After Thursday's performance, Cozart raised his average to .208. He isn't a legitimate option in mixed leagues, but does hold some value in NL-Only leagues. Analyst: David Kerr
Ramon Santiago will get the start today at shortstop for the Reds for Cozart. Santiago is more known for his glove than for his bat as he only hitting .167 this season in five games. The 34-year-old spent his last eight seasons with the Tigers before getting signed to a minor league deal with the Reds.Analyst: Drew Phelps
