Latest Update Marco Scutaro (back) has been placed on the 60-day disabled list. Mon Sep, 01, 10:43 PM
Can make consistently solid contact as a table-setter. Has the instincts to bat leadoff. Turns it up a notch with games on the line. Is versatile with the mitt. Will also draw walks.
Flaws: : Age and injuries have crept in, partly due to his all-out playing style. Doesn't generate a lot of home-run power and isn't a consistent run producer. Is no longer a stolen-base threat.
This likely ends the 2014 campaign for Scutaro, and ends his fantasy relevance for the season.Analyst: Colby Conway
The veteran infielder has dealt with a back issue since last season and hasn't been able to play more than a few games here and there. He's under contract for $6.67 million next season, although it's possible he'll be cut since his contract is a sunk cost at this point. Analyst: Spencer Silva
After only five games in the majors, Scutaro is back on the DL with a back issue. A back injury cost him most of the first half of the season, and the issue apparently is not gone. There is no timetable yet for his return. In his absence, the Giants called up Tony Abreu and have Dan Uggla starting Friday night at second. Analyst: Ben Diamond
At 38, the fact that he is suffering from back and neck woes is not promising for him to take on an everyday lineup role. He sat out Friday night's game too, although he was said to be available for pinch hitting duties, and presumably that status continues.Analyst: Ivar G. Anderson
