Latest Update Ender Inciarte went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the Diamondbacks loss to the Nationals on Wednesday. Thu Aug, 21, 01:08 AM
Has excellent speed and can steal plenty of bases. Also displays pretty good bat control and patience at the dish, since his walk/strikeout ratio is solid.
Flaws: : Doesn't have much pop in his bat, so he may not be good enough to play every day at the big-league level. Also gets caught stealing a bit too much.
Inciarte is having himself a solid August, slashing .321/.361/.449 with two home runs, seven RBI, 12 runs scored and three stole bases over 78 at-bats. With Mark Trumbo manning first base the rest of the way, there should be plenty of at-bats for Inciarte while playing in the Diamondbacks outfield, so those in deep leagues will want to add him to watch lists and make him a consideration if his hot-hitting continues. It's been Ender's game lately, as he's probably the hottest hitter in the D'backs lineup. He's got hit in each of his last four games, including a three-run home run Friday against the Pirates. He's not a very good baseball player, however, so I wouldn't expect it to last. Analyst: Spencer Silva
Until A.J. Pollack makes his way back, Inciarte should see the majority of time in center field for the Diamondbacks. We're not talking great offensive skills, but he can contribute every now and then. He's hit safely in five of his last seven games, so for a temporary fix...a very temporary fix, he's got some merits.Analyst: Howard Bender
Inciarte had his best game of his young career on Tuesday night, logging his first first four-hit game, which was his second multi-hit performance of the season. He is now hitting .228 with zero home runs and six RBI, which is not impressive, but if he continues to be used in the leadoff spot there could be value to be had down the line. Analyst: Matthew Beck
