Latest Update Eugenio Suarez doubles twices, drives in two Fri Jul, 11, 08:37 AM
Is a good defender, complete with excellent instincts and a great throwing arm. With the bat, he excels at getting on base due to plate patience.
Flaws: : Lacks ideal speed for a table-setter, as well as for the shortstop position because he lacks a little range. Also, he doesn't have a lot of power potential.
While there's no reason to get overly-excited about Suarez' game, there's little to complain about either. He's batting .283 with three home runs and 11 RBI over 92 at-bats and he seems to have really entrenched himself as the shortstop the Tigers have so desperately needed since losing Jose Iglesias. He won't hit for much power or dazzle you with any speed, but he should continue to hit for a decent average and kick in what he can for the counting stats.Analyst: Howard Bender
Suarez added to his already impressive resume by belting his third home in his fourth major league start and second in as many games. Tigers GM Dave Domboski was quoted as saying they new the 22-year old shortstop, "had some pop in his bat, but this is surprising." If you are lucky to find Suarez still lingering on waivers in your league pounce on him.Analyst: Michael Pichan
The rookie is giving opposing pitchers a "Suarez" the way he's been spanking him since getting called up recently. Suarez already has two home runs in his first three MLB career starts while hitting .400 (4-for-10) over that span with one walk to one strikeout. If either he or Twins Danny Santana happen to be available scoop them up, Santana may have a slight edge over Suarez if he happens to have multiple positional eligibility in your leagues.Analyst: Michael Pichan
Suarez tweaked his knee in his first game after being called up from Triple-A on June 4th which caused him to miss a couple starts, but his knee looks fine, and so to did his bat on Saturday. The 22-year old is not expected to hit for much power, although he did launch his first career home run in just his third ever big league at-bat, but he has the potential to hit for a decent average and has double-digit stolen base potential, thus he is more than relevant in deeper mixed league at a position that is scarce in talent and fantasy production.Analyst: Michael Pichan
