Carter Hutton Headshot

Hutton will defend the crease against the Coyotes on Wednesday, Andy Strickland of Fox Sports Midwest reports.

Hutton has made just two starts in the Blues' last 12 outings, but secured wins in both of those matchups while posting a 2.00 GAA and .909 save percentage. St. Louis should earn a playoff spot, barring a significant collapse, which could mean a few extra outings for the 31-year-old in order to ensure No. 1 netminder Jake Allen is well rested for the postseason. With the struggling Yotes in town, it was a perfect time for coach Mike Yeo to put Hutton between the pipes.

Jahlil Okafor Headshot

Okafor (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's contest against the Hawks, KL Chouinard of reports.

Okafor has sat out four of the past five games, including Tuesday's game against the Nets, due to soreness in his right knee. Richaun Holmes has been starting in Okafor's place and likely will once again if Okafor is held out Wednesday.

Tony Cruz Headshot

Cruz was reassigned to minor-league camp Wednesday, Padres radio broadcaster Bob Scanlan reports.

Cruz might be in a new organization, but he'll fill the same role that he did last season with the Royals as a depth option at catcher at the Triple-A level. The 30-year-old batted .264 with seven homers and 55 RBI for Triple-A Omaha in 2016.

Aaron Hill Headshot

With Jimmy Rollins being told that he won't make the Opening Day roster Monday, Hill figures to have made the cut as one of the Giants' backup infielders, according to Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area.

While nothing is official, the fact that the Giants are opting to keep the veteran infielder on the roster past Monday's deadline for a $100,000 retention bonus signals that they view him as a part of the Opening Day roster. Hill's versatility to back up several positions in the infield, as well as his ability to play the outfield in a pinch, make him a logical choice for a bench role. The 35-year-old batted .255 (12-for-47) this spring, but he won't generate fantasy value as a backup.
3:00 pm (EST)
Gerald Henderson Headshot

Henderson (hip) is considered questionable for Wednesday's game against the Hawks, KL Chouinard of reports.

Henderson sat out of Tuesday's game against the Nets due to soreness in his left hip and is in danger of missing another game due to the issue. Look for Nik Stauskas and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot to see extra minutes if Henderson is held out once again.
3:00 pm (EST)
Michael Ynoa Headshot

Ynoa appears to have won an Opening Day roster spot after the White Sox optioned Zack Burdi to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.

Ynoa had a rough spring, surrendering nine earned runs in 15.2 innings, but his solid showing last season with the White Sox probably convinced the team to keep him around. The 25-year-old offers some intriguing strikeout potential thanks to his mid-90s fastball, but he'll have to do a better job with his control and command in order to work his way into a high-leverage role out of the bullpen.
2:57 pm (EST)
George Hill Headshot

Hill won't play in Wednesday's game against the Kings due to a right groin strain, Andy Larsen of KSL News reports.

Hill hadn't missed any time due to his current groin injury yet and it's unclear how he suffered it. With Raul Neto (groin) also out and Alec Burks (personal) questionable, the Jazz could be down to just Dante Exum and Shelvin Mack at point guard for Wednesday's tilt. Looking ahead, Hill's first chance to return will be on Friday against the Wizards.
2:56 pm (EST)
Raul Neto Headshot

Neto has been ruled out of Wednesday's matchup with the Kings due to a right groin strain, Andy Larsen of KSL News reports.

It's unclear how Neto suffered his groin injury or how severe it is. His status for Friday's game against the Wizards is up in the air for the time being. Look Dante Exum and Shelvin Mack to see some extra time while Neto and starting point guard George Hill (groin) are sidelined.
2:52 pm (EST)
Anthony Swarzak Headshot

Swarzak appears to have won an Opening Day roster spot with the White Sox, CSN Chicago's Dan Hayes reports.

With the White Sox demoting Zack Burdi to Triple-A and Juan Minaya (abdomen) set to open the season the DL, Swarzak looks poised to serve as the club's long reliever. Swarzak split last season between Triple-A and the big leagues, accruing a 5.52 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 31 innings with the Yankees.
