Edward Paredes (L) Headshot

Paredes was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Paredes will take the place of Yu Darvish (back) on the roster, and he should offer an extra arm out of the bullpen for the Dodgers until they need to swap him out for the Darvish's temporary replacement in the rotation. He'll get another shot with the big club after posting a 0.75 ERA and 21:6 K:BB through 12 innings at Triple-A.

Carlos Gómez (R) Headshot

Gomez (shoulder) remains out of the lineup Saturday against the White Sox.

He will miss his sixth straight game with a cyst on his right shoulder, and at this point, the Rangers may be wishing they had just put Gomez on the DL right away so as not waste a roster spot this week. Delino DeShields will start in center field and lead off.

CC Sabathia (L) Headshot

Sabathia (knee) has been confirmed as Saturday's starter against the Red Sox.

He will come off the DL, but the expectation is that his knee pain could linger for the foreseeable future, so it's possible there could be skipped starts or even another DL stint in his immediate future. Sabathia had given up 12 runs in 13.1 innings over his last three starts before landing on the DL, so he is a pretty risky fantasy option against Boston.

Yan Gomes (R) Headshot

Gomes is out of Saturday's lineup against the Royals, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports reports.

He just barely plays enough to be considered the starting catcher, but it's essentially a pretty even timeshare with Roberto Perez. Gomes has six RBI and four hits in his last two games, but Perez will start behind the dish and hit ninth.
4:04 pm (EST)
Yu Darvish (R) Headshot

Darvish was placed on the 10-day disabled list with back tightness, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Darvish's back tightened up during his last start -- which could help explain his career-worst two strikeouts -- and the 32-year-old will require a brief stint on the DL to get over the issue. The good news is manager Dave Roberts said the issue isn't a serious one, and the team expects him to miss just one start while on the shelf, according to Alanna Rizzo of SportsNet LA. This lines him up to return to action against the Brewers on Aug. 27. In the meantime, Edward Paredes was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take his place on the roster, while Brock Stewart is expected to fill in for Darvish in the rotation while he's sidelined.
4:01 pm (EST)
Bradley Zimmer (L) Headshot

Zimmer is out of Saturday's lineup against the Royals, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports reports.

He snapped out of his horrific slump, going 3-for-10 with three strikeouts in his last two games, but the Indians will opt for more of a righty-heavy lineup against lefty Jason Vargas. Brandon Guyer starts in left field while Austin Jackson slides over to patrol center.
3:59 pm (EST)
Mitch Moreland (L) Headshot

Moreland is out of Saturday's lineup against the Yankees, Scott Lauber of ESPN.com reports.

With lefty CC Sabathia on the hill or the Yankees, Moreland will take his customary place on the bench as the Red Sox opt for more of a righty-heavy lineup. Hanley Ramirez will start at first base while Chris Young gets the start as the DH.
3:56 pm (EST)
Christian Vázquez (R) Headshot

Vazquez is out of Saturday's lineup against the Yankees, Scott Lauber of ESPN.com reports.

He has started three of the last four games and is coming off a 3-for-3 effort where he hit a home run and scored three times. Sand Leon will start the dish and hit eighth.
3:54 pm (EST)
Cameron Maybin (R) Headshot

Maybin (knee) is out of Saturday's lineup against the Orioles, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

He will miss his second game in a row with knee stiffness, and remains day-to-day. Ben Revere will start in left field and lead off against righty Kevin Gausman.
3:50 pm (EST)
J.D. Martínez (R) Headshot

Martinez (illness) is starting in right field and batting fifth for Saturday's game against the Twins.

Martinez is ready to resume his duties in right field after missing Friday's game due to an illness. The 29-year-old, who is slashing .239/.337/.580 with eight homers in 25 games with the Diamondbacks, will face Jose Berrios in his return to the lineup.
