DraftStreet ReviewDraftStreet.com launched in 2010 and is one of the longest standing daily fantasy sites. In 2009, Left Tackle LLC formed and had a goal to bring a new product to the industry, with inspiration coming from the online poker community. To help the business launch, the founders raised $1.6 million in round A funding. With the idea and the backing of seven-figure funding DraftStreet began operating in New York City, where they still reside today.

Today, users can participate in fantasy football, baseball, basketball, hockey, golf, college football, and college basketball at DraftStreet. The only sport not offered currently is racing, but that could change in the future. Each of the sports listed above can be played in DraftStreet's salary cap, pick'em, snake-draft, and survivor leagues. The coolest, and most unique, league type that DraftStreet offers is without question their snake-draft leagues.

Available only at DraftStreet.com, the snake-draft leagues allow you to participate in a single-day draft where once a player is selected in the draft, he comes off the board. This differs from most games in the daily fantasy industry in that most sites allow users to select any player they want with no restrictions. In the more well-known salary cap leagues that most will find in the industry, users can essentially pick the same exact team as their opponent(s). While this scenario isn't common, the snake-draft leagues totally negate this possibility. If you're a season-long fantasy player this may be the game for you.

The salary cap drafts on DraftStreet are their bread and butter, as is the case with all daily sites. In order to fulfill your lineup requirements you must use a $100,000 budget and follow the roster requirements (see Rules tab).

The scoring at DraftStreet is a bit different than what other sites use, which is a good thing, in my opinion. The main difference with DraftStreet’s scoring compared to other sites is simply that they use more stats. For starters, they use relief pitchers; not many sites do this. Think a closer is likely to pick up a save? Go ahead and take a chance (and save some money) and take him and if you’re right, you get the 3 points for the save (and points for other stats accumulated). But, if he blows that save, then you lose .75 points. Points are also awarded for sacrifices and taken away for grounding into a double play.

Football is relatively normal with the exception of how the defenses receive points for points against. Your defense will start out with 12 points by default, and every time a point is allowed they’ll lose .5. So a touchdown given up will result in -3 and then -.5 for the extra point.

DraftStreet.comFree games on DraftStreet award what they call "Street Creds", their member loyalty points. "Street Creds" are awarded every time you play a cash game or win a free game. The store is another one of the great perks that DraftStreet offers. Some of the items in the store include t-shirts, hats, hoodies, and the best items in my opinion, the entry vouchers! You can redeem your creds for vouchers to enter games and then win the cash prizes associated to that game. A great asset to have when your bankroll is dwindling.

While DraftStreet offers several free games on a daily basis, they also offer games that start out at $2 and go all the way up to $420. For me, the most enticing games are the guaranteed prize pool events (GPP) with the entry fees starting as low as $2 and giving you a very high return on your investment. For example, you can enter for just $2 and win $135 – as the entry fee goes up, so does your return!

One of the bigger events being held at DraftStreet, and within the industry, is their 2013 Baseball Championship. They're giving away $400,000 and $100k to the champion! Qualifiers run every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from May 3rd – August 4th and the preliminary event begins Tuesday, August 6. Don't miss out on this one as it's going to be one of the biggest tournaments run all summer.

Another great option for DraftStreet users is the ability to earn extra cash by referring friends. For each friend you refer you earn a minimum of 15% of their entry fees and up to 40%, depending on how much action you bring in.

DraftStreet allows players to deposit via eCheck, PayPal, Credit and Debit Card, and Prepaid Credit and Gift Cards. They accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX and Discover credit cards.

The withdraw process is very simple as they payout through PayPal or check. Withdrawal requests are typically processed within 48 hours for PayPal, and obviously a bit longer for a physical check. While these times are reasonable the process could be a bit faster, but rest assured, your money is safe.

The lobby at DraftStreet is easy to access and more importantly, painless to filter. Tabs at the top of the lobby provide you with the ability to choose which sport to display and directly below that you can choose the Draft, Duration, Entry-Fee, Players, Payout, and Start Time types you would like to review. To make your life even easier, they allow you to save your filter settings so you won't be required to do this every time you go to the site.

             DraftStreet Review

Once you've found the game you want to join, putting together that winning squad couldn't be much easier. On the player selection screen you can search, scroll, and add the players you want to start for that day. And if you want to review their game logs with stats and fantasy points, well they've got that too. For some sports, DraftStreet even tells you who is starting and who isn't.

The mobile site, while a valid option, could be a bit cleaner and smoother. While trying to put together a lineup you may get an error message (or two), but with a little patience you can draft your team without too much headache.
