Over the past 1-1 ½ years the daily fantasy industry has seen several sites popup and show quite a bit of promise, however, none have made the impact that DraftKings.com has.  In April 2012 the guys over at DraftKings, Inc. received $1.4 million in seed funding and made the DraftKings Reviewmost of the investment. Right off the bat these guys were offering huge guaranteed prize pools (GPP) with serious overlay. If I were to guess, I’d say no site (other than maybe FanDuel) had anywhere near the acquisition rate that DK had in their initial stage.

Now, after receiving a Series A round of $7 million in funding (Atlas Venture) DraftKings is guaranteeing to award $5 million in prizes this (2013) fantasy baseball season.

Whether you’re looking for quick payouts, massive overlay, humongous prize pools, or great customer service, DraftKings should be able to meet your every desire.

DraftKings offers fantasy baseball, football, hockey, basketball, college football, and college basketball games every day throughout each season.

The fantasy scoring on DK is fairly common with the exception of fantasy baseball. The site does a good job at weighting the scoring of the offensive stats in order to keep up with the pitchers and make their baseball scores comparable to the other sports that tend to be a bit higher.

DraftKings uses a $50k salary cap format and their games require you to select between 8-10 players depending on which sport you’re participating in.

If you’re looking for one of the biggest deposit bonuses in the industry then DK has that, as well. Make sure to sign up through our DraftKings links to receive your 100% deposit bonus up to $600!  DraftKings awards deposit bonus money incrementally and you can view your bonus details in your account section. Unlike some other sites, they make this very easy to understand and follow.

As I mentioned, DK is one of the newer sites to hit the DFS scene, but also one of the most aggressive. From their $2 GPPs paying out thousands of dollars to their $100,000+ prize pools you can find some unbelievable value on their site. One of my favorite game options that are available only on DK is their Step Tourneys. They give away tickets to these games in their daily freerolls, but you can also enter using your cash balance if you so choose. Essentially, their Step Tourneys are exactly that – steps. Simply work your way up to step 6 and you automatically cash (up to $1,000!).

This baseball season DraftKings is featuring three major tournaments in their Chase for the Crown II series in which they’re giving away a total of $5 million. The $100k Punch Out (6/14/2013), $500k Midsummer Classic (7/19/2013) and $100k Sweet Spot (8/16/2013) are three of the biggest tournaments that you’ll find anywhere on the web. I seriously encourage you to go play some of their qualifier tournaments which allow you to get a ticket to the bigger games for much less than the normal entry fee. The Chase for the Crown II winner also receives a vacation package of a lifetime (check out the site for full details).

Aside from the absolutely mindboggling tournaments mentioned above, DK also offers great gpp tourneys on a daily basis. My personal favorite is their $27 tournament which runs every day and prize pools range from $2,500 and go all the way up to $20,000 depending on the day of the week. If you put a gun to my head and forced me to say something bad about these guys the only thing I could come up with is the fact that they allow a single user to enter these gpps way too many times. Any given night one person might have 30 entries and I think this is going to present some serious issues for the site (and industry) in the future. These guys are smart though and I’m sure they’ll figure out an alternative.

DraftKings allows players to deposit via PayPal, Dwolla, Credit and Debit Card, and Prepaid Credit and Gift Cards. They accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and AMEX credit cards.

DraftKings provides excellent customer service and always process withdraws in a timely manner. During the week you typically receive your money within 12 hours – they do not process withdraws on the weekends.

The main reason I started playing at DK was for the ginormous prize pools, but the reason I remain a customer today is for their sleek-and-easy-to-use interface. Many sites in the industry have two or three of the components I look for (big prize pools, great customer service, sleek interface, and ease of use), but DK truly has everything.

The lobby on DraftKings fits right into the mold of a great interface; it’s easy to use and is very aesthetic. The lobby reacts quickly when you filter and sort the different game options, which may not seem like a big deal, but trust me, it can get frustrating waiting for a site to react to your instruction.

    DraftKings Review

The Chase for the Crown events are run for every sport, have their own leaderboards and come complete with a full schedule & lobby when you go to the customized section on DK. This is great for the players who take a lot of pride in their fantasy skills and like to have that added incentive.

Another amazing feature that DK has brought to the industry is their Late Swap function. This first-of-its-kind functionality allows users to edit their lineups even after the games have started. For example, if you choose Brian McCann in a 10PM game and find out at 9:40PM that he’s been scratched and Evan Gattis is taking his spot, simply swap out McCann for Gattis and you’re good to go. This is a great feature for users who want to limit the risk on starting one of their “must starts” even though the lineups haven’t been announced.
