Jeurys Familia allowed no earned runs and one hit while walking none and striking out none in the Mets 6-5 win over the Giants on Saturday .

Familia recorded his eighth save of the season in a fairly routine ninth inning after allowing a leadoff single. He is now 8-for-8 in save opportunities this season. Familia is very secure in his role and he should receive plenty of save opportunities this season. If a save opportunity arises tomorrow in the Mets series finale against the Giants, he should be available to pitch.

Wilmer Flores went 1-for-4 with a home run, one RBI, and one run scored in the Mets 6-5 win over the Giants.

Flores provided the game winning home run in the sixth inning off of Matt Cain. It was his first home run of the season as he has had a brutal start to the year. He hasn’t received regular playing time due to the Mets crowded infield, but he took advantage of the opportunity to replace David Wright at third base today. He is unlikely to be in the lineup tomorrow when the Mets take on Madison Bumgarner.

Michael Conforto went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three RBI, and two runs scored in the Mets 6-5 win over the Giants on Saturday.

Conforto continues to do it all at the plate and he looked completely comfortable picking apart Matt Cain and the rest of the Giants pitchers today. His production has been incredible of late as he has recorded a hit in nine of his past 10 games and also has 12 RBI in that span. In addition, he has a recorded a double in six straight games. He and the Mets will take on left-handed pitcher Madison Bumgarner tomorrow, and although it seems hard to fathom sitting Conforto given his current production, he has sat against left-handed pitchers for much of the season.

Jacob DeGrom allowed no earned runs and two hits while walking four and striking out five over six innings in the Mets 6-5 win over the Giants on Saturday.

The stat line looks okay for DeGrom but it wasn’t as comfortable as the zero earned runs indicates. He battled his control much of the day which culminated in him walking a batter with the bases loaded to force in a run. DeGrom has looked good in each of his three starts this season, though he has not pitched deep into games. Other than that, there isn't much to complain about in his current line. He is scheduled to pitch next on Thursday at San Diego.

Matt Cain allowed six earned runs and seven hits while walking one and striking out five over six innings in the Giants 6-5 loss to the Mets on Saturday.

Cain gave up two runs in each of the first two innings but stuck in the game long enough to allow the Giants to avoid using their entire bullpen. Cain is nothing more than a warm body at this point in his career as he now has a a 7.00 ERA on the season and has surrendered six earned runs in two of his five starts. Cain will get the ball next on Thursday and will face the Rockies at home.

Marshawn Lynch still has not filed retirement papers.

Although Lynch still hasn't officially retired, it sounds like he doesn't plan on playing and the Seahawks expect him to retire. Still, there's been radio silence on Lynch's end about the topic, so the situation is worth monitoring.
