Drew Smyly allowed five runs on six hits while walking one and striking out four over six innings during Thursday’s outing against the Marlins.

Smyly had a shaky start on Thursday, as once again, he was beat by the home run ball. In each of Smyly’s poor outings this season, he’s allowed two or more homers. His total for the year is 11 and that’s over 11 starts. When he’s not allowing homers, however, he’s doing virtually everything else right. He’s striking out well over one batter per inning and has a 1.05 WHIP. His record may be 2-6 but he’s still an excellent option in fantasy.

Matt Holliday is not in Thursday's starting lineup.

Holliday has struggled for much of the year as he has just a .233 average on the season. Brandon Moss will take his place in left field and bat fifth though he is hitting in the .220s as well this year.

Trevor Story is back in Thursday's starting lineup and is batting seventh.

After Tuesday's four strikeout clunker, Story got Wednesday off. He's back in the lineup for Thursday's action looking to bounce back strong. Trevor has been the Story of the 2016 season thus far and despite striking out more than anyone else in baseball is still the number one fantasy option at shortstop.

Steve Delabar accepted his assignment to Triple-A Louisville instead of electing free agency.

Delabar has been awful for the Reds this season. By going to Triple-A, he may realize the market for him in free agency might be slim. In eight innings at the big league level, he's allowed six runs, walked 10 batters and posted a 6.75 ERA.

Texans have signed Braxton Miller to his rookie contract.

After being selected in the third-round, Miller signed his rookie deal on Thursday for four-years, worth $3.1 million. He also gets north of $700K worth of signing bonuses. Miller is making the transition from college quarterback to professional wide receiver and has obviously had quite the smooth transition since he was selected in the third-round. Miller's fantasy impact is up in the air at this point as he comes in as the Texans third receiver on the depth chart.

A.J. Pierzynski is not in Thursday's starting lineup.

Tyler Flowers draws the start behind the dish and hits fourth as Pierzynski gets Thursday off. The two catchers are still virtually in a time share as Flowers will appear in his 25th game this year as Pierzynski has played in 28. Neither have had a good year and neither are worth an add in any fantasy format.

Erick Aybar is not in Thursday's starting lineup.

This is nothing more than a standard day off for Aybar who gives way to Daniel Castro at short. Castro is hitting just above the "Mendoza Line" at .213 so he's worth nothing in fantasy.

Angels have signed Erik Kratz to a minor league contract.

After playing in 15 games for the Astros this year, Kratz was released but found a new home on Thursday after being signed by the Angels. It's just a minor league contract but his ability to play defense caught the Angels attention and he'll have a chance to work his way back to the majors.
