Blake Snell Headshot

Blake Snell left Saturday's game but he expects to make his next start.

It clearly was a minor issue but is still worth noting in case further problems arise. Snell should be fine for his next start but it's a situation to monitor.

Jerald Hawkins Headshot

Steelers placed fourth-round rookie tackle Jerald Hawkins (shoulder) on injured reserve.

This is a tough blow for the rookie and the depth of the Steelers line. The Steelers are very weak at right tackle and it's an issue that needs to be addressed. With cuts coming starting up, expect them to pick up a RT who doesn't make it elsewhere.

Jordan Zumwalt Headshot

Steelers have released Jordan Zumwalt.

This is one of the very first names we've seen be victim to cuts. Teams need to cut down to 75 players and Zumwalt will look to find work elsewhere.

Dashon Goldson Headshot

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday Dashon Goldson reached an agreement with the Falcons.

This was an expected signing after Goldson met with the team last week. Rookie Keanu Neal went down with a knee injury that has a timetable of 3-4 weeks and the team does not want to risk a shaky start to the season. Goldson, a former All-Pro, has the chance to start Week 1 or just provide depth for the Falcons.

Jared Goff Headshot

Jared Goff suffered a bruised tailbone Saturday.

Goff is losing the job to Case Keenum due to poor performance and this doesn't necessarily help his case either. Though Goff was the No. 1 overall pick, his preseason performance shows he may not be ready to shoulder the load as a starting QB. The bruised tailbone is very minor but Rams fans have to be a little concerned from what we've seen so far.

Jean Segura Headshot

Jean Segura left after two innings Saturday due to illness.

Illnesses usually warrant very little attention from fantasy owners due to the limited severity in most cases. He's had a great season and his illness appears to be very minor. He should be back in the lineup within the next two games barring a negative report.

Colby Lewis Headshot

Colby Lewis (right lat) is scheduled to make his second rehab start on Monday for Double-A Frisco.

Assuming the rehab start goes well, Lewis is expected to return September 3rd. Lewis was placed on the 60-day DL back in late June but appears ready to return to the majors very soon.

Yan Gomes Headshot

Indians manager Terry Francona said there's no timetable for when C Yan Gomes (right shoulder separation) will begin a rehab session.

Gomes has ramped up activity with both catching and hitting so that's a good sign. But the absence of a timetable usually is a bad sign and it could be a month before we see Gomes back. Playoffs are around the corner and Gomes will likely push to be able to play when they do start.

Colby Rasmus Headshot

Colby Rasmus (ear) worked out on the field for the second straight day Saturday.

Rasmus has looked good in his limited workouts. He had a cyst removed from his ear back in early August but seems to be recovering just fine. Expect him back within the next two weeks.
