After pitching like an ace for much of the season so far, Tillman has now put up back-to-back lackluster efforts against the Blue Jays and Rays respectively. Between those two starts, the 28-year-old righty has surrendered 10 runs on 15 hits and two walks while striking out six across 10.0 innings. It is not time to panic on Tillman or anything, but a mild amount of concern is certainly warranted. He is a definitely a hold-and-see starter in standard mixed leagues going into Thursday night’s matchup with the Mariners.
Altuve is putting together a fantasy season in which he is the top second baseman by a long shot. He continued that on Saturday with four hits, and a homer. On the season the MVP candidate is slashing .345/.425/.562 on the season along with 13 home runs, 44 RBI, and 18 steals. Saturday’s game gives him a seven game hit streak and three home runs in his last five games. Altuve has never faced Sunday’s starter for the Royals, Ian Kennedy, however he is hitting .338 with ten home runs against righties so far this season. Altuve is a must start in every format.
