Virgil Green Headshot

Virgil Green is the number one tight end on the Broncos depth chart for the third preseason game.

He's had a nice preseason, catching 7 passes for 83 yards. There's definitely some sleeper appeal as a low-end TE1, especially with Denver's QB situation being relatively incompetent and tight end's generally acting as a safety blanket. It'll be interesting to see if his success continues into the season as he rounds out a solid preseason. Remember the name.

Nnanna Egwu Headshot

Nnanna Egwu has signed with the Cairns Taipans in Australia.

The 23 year old didn't get any playing time in the U.S and was waived by the Magic this past October. He'll play with the Taipans in Australia for the time being.

Bryan Stork Headshot

Bryan Stork plans to arrive at Redskins training camp this weekend.

Stork was acquired from the Patriots for a conditional seventh-round pick Wednesday, but after the rumors of a deal started, he was reportedly considering retirement. This news would suggest that he is in fact not retiring. Stork will have a legitimate shot at competing for a starting role in Washington.

Jeremy Jeffress Headshot

Jeremy Jeffress has been arrested for DWI.

Jeffress was arrested early Friday morning for a DWI after a long night. He recently lost his closer role to Sam Dyson after being traded to the Rangers with All-Star catcher Jonathan Lucroy and Jeffress may be subject to disciplinary action from the team as well.

Jordan Howard Headshot

Jordan Howard is listed as the fourth running back for the Bears after the third preseason game.

Howard entered camp with a shot to be the Bears primary backup to Jeremy Langford, but a shaky preseason has left him behind Langford, Jaquizz Rodgers, and Ka'Deem Carey. It seems unlikely that he'd be the guy if Langford went down.

Eric Berry Headshot

Coach Andy Reid still expects Eric Berry (contract) to play in Week 1.

The two sides have been confident all along that Berry will sign a deal before the season starts. “Eric’s one of our good players and he’s in the business side of it right now,” Head coach Andy Reid said. It's looking likely that the Chiefs and Berry will agree to some sort of deal to have him back on the field for Week 1. The Chiefs need him.

Tom Wilhelmsen Headshot

Manager Scott Servais said that Tom Wilhelmsen has been dealing with back issues for the last few days.

Wilhelmsen is dealing with a back issue, but he did pitch a scoreless inning on Thursday night. Whatever was ailing Wilhelmsen seems to be cleared up at this point. He should be fine going forward.

Jorge Alfaro Headshot

Phillies are expected to call up prospect Jorge Alfaro over the weekend.

The Phillies have long been out of playoff contention and now they want to infiltrate some of their younger players and prospects. Alfaro is hitting .279 with 13 home runs at Double-A this season and should receive a couple of starts behind the plate each week. He's worth an add in NL-Only leagues.
